Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. Her mother is English the other half Spanish. Her parents were Dennis Alan Taylor an ex-banker and Jennifer Marina Joy psychologist. His father was Argentine and Scottish English descent. Her mother is of Spanish and English roots. Four of her siblings belong to her father's previous marriage. They moved with the family from Buenos Aires to Victoria, London when Taylor-Joy turned six. According to Taylor-Joy the move was traumatic and she refused to master English with the intention of returning to Argentina. Hill House was the new school she had to attend following her departure from Northlands. She enrolled later at Queen's Gate School in which she was a ballet student and took part in school-based plays. She dropped out of high school at 16 to pursue an acting career. Taylor-Joy had always wanted to work as an actor. When she was 16, Sarah Doukas Founder of Storm Management gave her the chance to become a model.
